Dry Sump Oil Pans LS CHEVROLET 1-9 |
AVIAID builds a variety of systems for the LS family of Chevrolet engines. While we build a number of External Wet Sump systems, our primary product for LS engines are dry sump systems. For that purpose we offer dry sump pans in a variety of constructions. AVIAID builds steel dry sump pans based on a unique 1 piece stamping which we modify into parts for a variety of applications. Our basic flat sump pans are 1.75" deep and are offered in left and right side outlet in a variety of pickup configurations for everything from basic 2 pickup dry sump to 4 pickup Rock Crawler and Hydroplane installations. We offer our own Billet Aluminum 5 port 1.75" deep dry sump pan. This is a 1 piece construction part with bolt in stamped steel windage tray, screw-in screen fittings and plugs to request, and a direct screw in feed port into the pan rail port in the block. We also offer the catalogue of ARE cast aluminum dry sump pans for convenient package ordering. We have the required bolt kits, screen and non-screen fittings to order for all these pans, as well as pan gaskets as required, to make this a one stop shopping site to get the complete pan assembly of your choice. Please contact us as necessary to discuss your requirements if there are any questions. Bolt kits are also available. Stock bolts can be used but attention must be paid to bolt length and bolt hole depth to insure that the bolts do not bottom in the hole before the bolt seats properly. The LS engine also requires a way to feed the block for dry and wet sump installations. The billet aluminum pan and the cast aluminum pans have ports machined into the parts the will use a screw in AN fitting to feed the block. The 2 primary options for the steel pans are a pan rail adapter that bolts down on top of the pan rail reinforcement bars supplied with the pan, or a block feed adapter that screws into the port above the oil filter ports on the pan rail that feeds the galley going up to the main galley in the engine. Pans using the pan rail adapter include 3 piece reinforcement rails cut to allow direct contact between the adapter and the pan. Pans using the block feed adapter come with 2 piece reinforcement rails. Some blocks now have option provisions to feed oil to the block. The LS blocks have a separator installed at the factory the isolates the passage forward of the oil filter ports in the pan rail from the rest of the oil passage that feeds oil to the engine. Known as the LS Oil Galley Plug (Dumbbell), GM Part No 12573460. It is inserted from the rear of the block in the oil galley traveling the length of the block on the oil filter side of the block, and is under the rear main seal carrier that seals off the back of the block under the bell housing. We also offer a freeze plug kit that can be used to plug off extra unused oil galley ports in the block, but the Dumbbell actually does that for you. IF YOU HAVE A NOONAN BLOCK Will not accept a minimum depth pan because of main cap compontents. Must use 3" deep pans with trough. |
